Getting Started

Open the CrownShift app and tap Create Account on the welcome screen. Enter your email address and choose a password. You'll be taken to the home screen immediately — no email verification step required.

For the best AI-generated preview:

— Use a clear, well-lit, front-facing selfie.
— Make sure your full face and hairline are visible.
— Avoid heavy shadows, hats, or obstructions.
— A plain or simple background gives cleaner results.

Tip: Natural lighting near a window consistently produces the most realistic previews.

Yes. On the Style Selection screen, choose Custom Reference Photo instead of a preset style. You can upload any photo of a hairstyle you'd like to preview on yourself. The AI will interpret the style and apply it to your face.

AI Try-On

Most previews are generated in 15–30 seconds, depending on your internet connection and current server load. A loading animation will appear while the AI is working.

Yes. On the result screen, tap Regenerate to create a new variation using the same style. If you want more targeted refinements, tap Edit Look — this uses credits and lets you describe specific changes you'd like the AI to make.

Tip: A clearer, better-lit selfie often improves results significantly before trying to regenerate.

From any result screen, tap Save to store the look to your library. In the Saved tab, you can create Collections to organize your saved looks by category. You can also view the version history of any look you've regenerated or edited.

Hair Analysis

The Hair Analysis feature gives you a personalized style profile. You answer a short quiz about your hair type, then upload two photos (front-facing and side profile). The AI analyzes your face shape, hair characteristics, and generates:

— A list of recommended styles that suit your features.
— A list of styles to avoid.
— Notes on your hair texture and face shape.

You'll be prompted to upload two photos:

1. Front-facing photo — Full face visible, hair in its natural state.
2. Side profile photo — Taken at a 90-degree angle to capture your profile.

Both should be well-lit and clearly show your hairline and hair texture.

Credits & Purchases

Credits are used to generate AI hairstyle previews, run the hair analysis, and use the Edit Look feature. You can purchase credit packs through the in-app shop (tap the credit balance shown on the home screen). New accounts may receive a small number of free credits to get started.

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. To request a refund:

1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
2. Tap your Apple ID → Subscriptions & Purchases.
3. Find the CrownShift purchase and tap Report a Problem.

Alternatively, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple handles all refund decisions for in-app purchases.

First, try force-closing and reopening the app — credits are sometimes added with a short delay. If they still don't appear, email us at crownshiftappsupport@gmail.com with your Apple Order ID (found in your App Store purchase receipt) and we'll resolve it promptly.

Account & Privacy

Go to Profile → Reset Password. Enter your email address and we'll send a password reset link. Check your spam folder if you don't see it within a few minutes.

Go to Profile → Delete Account. Confirming this action permanently deletes your account, saved looks, and all associated data from our servers within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.

You can also submit a deletion request by emailing crownshiftappsupport@gmail.com.

Yes. Photos you upload are used only to generate your requested preview or analysis. They are transmitted securely, stripped of any metadata (like GPS location), processed by AI, and are not permanently stored on our servers after processing. We do not use your photos to train AI models. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

Troubleshooting

Try these steps in order:

1. Force-close the app and reopen it.
2. Check your internet connection.
3. Restart your iPhone.
4. Update the app to the latest version via the App Store.
5. Delete and reinstall the app (your saved looks and account are cloud-backed and will restore after sign-in).

Errors during generation are usually caused by:

Insufficient credits: Check your balance on the home screen.
Photo quality: The AI couldn't clearly detect a face — try a better-lit, clearer selfie.
Server issue: Temporary service disruption — wait a moment and try again.
Invalid reference photo: If using a custom style photo, ensure it clearly shows a hairstyle.
